AEA response to the Government’s consultations on reforms to the electricity market, 16 December 2010
Responding to the Government’s consultations on reforms to the electricity market, Mark Johnson, Knowledge Leader – Emissions Trading at sustainability consultancy AEA, said:
“These consultations are a step in the right direction and should help to create a level playing field on which we can continue to work to realise the benefits of a low carbon economy in the UK. There has been a considerable amount of uncertainty around the proposed reforms to the electricity market, and these consultations help to clarify how the policy reforms might be taken forward".

AEA to administer Plug-in Car Grant scheme for ultra low emission cars
Following a competitive process, the Office of Low Emission Vehicles has awarded AEA, a leading energy and environment consultancy, a contract to deliver the platform for the Government’s Plug-in Car Grant scheme. Under the new contract, AEA will be delivering a secure, web-based portal for use by car dealerships and manufacturers from when the scheme begins in January 2011.

The Board of AEATG is pleased to announce that all of the conditions of the Acquisition Agreement between AEATG, AEA Technology plc (“AEA”), AEA Technology Acquisition Limited, ERG and the shareholders of ERG, including the conditions relating to the US Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act 1976, the conditions relating to the US Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States and admission of the AEATG shares to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, have been satisfied or waived and the Acquisition has completed.
